Rakesh Mehta is a clinician by training and has managed patients in the ICU for several years. He has also worked with GlaxoSmithKline in Pharmaceutical Marketing as a clinical content expert for promoting evidence based and ethical marketing. Rakesh has worked in the area healthcare IT developing early versions of medical and surgical Simulation Software, EHRs, CDSS, NLP prototypes on federal programs. He was a Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI on federal grants worth close to $1.5M procured under competitive processes. He has also held leadership positions in program management for large, multi-year federal contracts; marketing and strategy focused on licensing commercial software and developing sales contracts for enterprise software.
Rakesh has worked in consulting for companies such as Accenture, Siemens Healthcare and Cerner Corporation leading teams of consultants on multi-million dollar contracts in the areas of enterprise EHR implementation, Meaningful Use Stages 1 & 2 achievement and healthcare strategy for providers and health plans.
Most recently, he has managed telehealth and innovations at a provider (largest pediatric hospital in the US) developing telehealth enterprise strategy, implementation processes and executing telehealth for several service lines. He has mentored several start-up companies at the T 20181015_122803.jpg exas Medical Center Accelerator (TMCX) and has acted as a proponent for development and adoption of pediatric technologies.
Currently, Rakesh is a Director Clinical Services at Vidyo, Inc. He provides thought leadership and leverages best practices with providers in the areas of telehealth strategy, program selection and successful telehealth implementation. He has medical education from India, an RN certification, MBA degrees in Marketing and Finance and an MS in Information Systems.
