Version 22.5.0—November 2022
What's new in this release?
- Support for the latest OS versions and platforms
- VidyoConnect for WebRTC now supports these latest OS versions and platforms:
- Android 13
- iOS 16
- macOS 13
- Epic Monitor ECAL support for VidyoConnect for WebRTC
- The VidyoConnect for WebRTC app can now be used with Epic Monitor ECAL (Embedded Context-Aware Linking).
- Epic Monitor ECAL is a grid of videos embedded in the Epic Monitor platform that are surrounded with contextual information from the EMR. This functionality allows organizations to use video apps, such as VidyoConnect for WebRTC, to engage in continuous video surveillance of multiple patients, be it for COVID, fall risk, or behavioral disorders.
- To enable this feature, Epic administrators must add the initializeWebView=1 custom invocation URL parameter in their FDI record for generating Epic CAL links.
- The parameter must go outside the CRYPTSTRING in the FDI record.
- This feature is available only with VidyoPortal version 22.3.1 and later.

VIDCONW-308 |
When using iOS 16 on a Safari browser, the video may appear distorted when the phone is rotated. If this issue occurs, mute and unmute the camera, rotate the device to the opposite side, and/or rejoin the call in the desired orientation. |
VIDCONW-289 |
During a call where an application window is shared, if a user chooses another application window to share without manually closing the first window, the new application window is not shared. To avoid this issue, stop sharing the current application window before you start sharing a new one. |
VIDCONW-265 |
DESCRIPWhen using macOS Ventura on Safari 16, if a user shares an application window, the preview of the shared window as well as the shared window itself appears smaller and surrounded by black space.TION |
VIDCONW-220 |
On iOS Safari, if you set your incoming calls to “Banner” rather than “Full Screen” and you answer an incoming phone call while you are already in a video call, your camera does not get muted. To avoid this issue, we recommend configuring incoming calls as “Full Screen” instead of “Banner”. Alternatively, when you receive an incoming call, tap on the incoming call banner to make it go to full screen. |
VIDCONW-206 |
Occasionally, after 10 minutes or more in a call with certain iPad models, the voices of meeting participants begin to sound distorted. Some users have described this distortion as "robotic voice". This issue has been investigated and has been determined to be a Safari bug. For more information, see Safari bugs. |
VIDCONW-66 |
Apple limitations cause some audio issues when VidyoConnect for WebRTC is used Safari on iOS 15. For more information, see Alert: Audio Issues with Safari on iOS 15. |
