Version 22.4.0 (Android and iOS)—July 2022
What's new in this release?
- Settings for outbound processing and outbound video bitrate (Android and iOS)
- New settings for outbound processing and outbound video bitrate enable you to have finer control over your system performance and network.
- Both settings are available from the Settings > Preferences menu on your VidyoConnect mobile app and are available for signed-in users only at this time.
- The Outbound Processing Setting controls the amount of processing power VidyoConnect uses to send video. You can choose from these options:
- Resource Optimized — Conserves processing power
- Maximum Performance — Provides the best video experience using your processing power
- The Video Bitrate Setting controls the amount of bandwidth VidyoConnect uses to send video. You can choose from these options:
- Restricted — Limits the outbound bitrate to 500 kbps
- Recommended — Limits the outbound bitrate to 1500 kbps
- Unrestrained — Removes all limits on outbound bitrate
- Post-call survey (Android and iOS)
- We have enabled a post-call survey across all our VidyoConnect products. This feature presents the users with a five-star survey at the end of each call.
- You can disable this on your tenant for guest users and signed-in users separately by using the postCallSurveyDisabled parameter on the Settings > Feature Settings > Custom Parameters page in the Tenant Admin portal.
- For more information, refer to the "Configuring Custom Parameters" section in the VidyoPortal and VidyoRouter Administrator Guide version 22.4.1 or later.
- Permissions flow improvements (Android)
- Users can now more easily grant permissions to the VidyoConnect app, especially in cases where they've revoked critical permissions like microphone or camera access.
- If the proper permissions weren’t granted, pop-ups automatically appear notifying the user. They can then simply tap GO and allow the required access.
- Epic updates for the hardware check feature (Android and iOS)
- The results of the Epic hardware check can now be written back to Epic and viewed prior to the call.
- If the value returned is 0, no hardware failed. Otherwise, the value is the sum of all error codes that apply. These error codes are used:
- 2 — Camera failure
- 4 — Microphone failure
- 8 — Speaker failure
- Please note that the hardware check feature is not a new capability; rather, it was introduced in the app in version 22.3.0. For more details, see the VidyoConnect for Mobile Version 22.3.0 Release Notes.
- This feature does not impact the end-user experience and is available only with VidyoPortal version 22.4.1 and later.
