Version 21.6.0 (Android and iOS)—November 2021
What's new in this release?
- Screen reader support
- This release of the VidyoConnect for mobile app includes screen reader support—a feature that allow users with visual impairment to interact with what is visible on-screen with standard screen readers like TalkBack on Android devices, and VoiceOver on iOS.
- With this feature, users can use TalkBack and VoiceOver to navigate and perform most of the functions necessary to participate effectively in meetings on their mobile devices.
- When a user touches any icon, button, ellipsis, etc., the user gets an audible description of that button, icon, or link. For example, when a user taps and focuses on to the Back button, they will hear this: "Cancel and Go Back".
- Users can also use gestures, for example, swiping left or right, to navigate.
- To use these assistive technologies, users must enable them on their devices. The option to do this is in the "Settings" menu of your mobile device. For more information about the how to enable screen readers, refer to the Enabling Screen Readers article.
- Epic CAL participants in a waiting room can listen to audio and view video
- Healthcare customers using Epic CAL can now play music or a video to patients who are waiting for their healthcare providers to join their call. You can customize this feature so that the patients in the waiting room can:
- view a video.
- listen to audio (with or without a background image).
- see a background image (with or without audio).
- Providers can specify the video, audio, and background image content to be played in the waiting room. They can also select different content for different calls.
- To use this feature, the Tenant Admin must configure it on VidyoPortal version 21.4.0 or later.
