Version 21.2.0 (Android and iOS) HC—May 2021
What's new in this release?
- Ability to invite others to join your call by dialing out
- To invite another user to your call by dialing out, tap the invite icon in the call controls along the bottom of the VidyoConnect app, select the CALL tab, and start entering the phone number of the person you want to invite.
- To see the list of available country codes, click the small arrow near the flag icon. You must enter a country code on the list since only those on the list have been set up on your app.
- As of the 21.2.0 release, service to support the dial out feature is limited to the United States and Canada.
- When you finish entering the number, tap the Call button on the Invite Participant pop-up.
- A message appears at the top of the app indicating that the outgoing call is being placed to the number you entered.
- Once the user receives the call, they are automatically added to your ongoing meeting.
- If the user doesn't answer the call and you try to call them again, a message appears asking if you're sure you want to call again.
- Feature availability
- You can invite others to your call by dialing out if you’re a registered user who has launched the video call or if you became the call moderator using the moderator PIN.
- You cannot invite other users if you are simply a participant or guest that has joined the call.
- Currently, the dial out feature is available to VidyoCloud Health customers only; however, it will be rolled out to other VidyoCloud customers periodically. On-premises customers will be able to get this feature in the near future.
- Note: If you’re a VidyoCloud admin, new custom parameters that support this feature will be automatically pushed to your tenants. Do NOT modify or delete these parameters because doing so could prevent the feature from working. If you want to change the parameters in any way, contact VidyoCloud Support first.
- Power saving improvements
- If you enabled Battery Saver mode on your device, or if you are using an iPad and its battery drops to 20 percent or lower, the VidyoConnect mobile app will automatically switch to Voice+Content Only mode.
- The Voice+Content Only feature saves power by enabling users to participate in conferences as voice-only participants who can share and view content, but who do not send video or receive video from other participants.
- If Voice+Content Only mode automatically gets enabled on your device but you don’t want it to, you can now revert to sending and receiving video. To do so, simply tap Revert on the Low Battery Level pop-up that appears when Voice+Content Only mode is enabled.
