The new breakout rooms feature enables the call moderator to separate the call participants into smaller groups. This feature is especially useful in situations where there are privacy concerns but call participants still need to speak openly. For example:
In a medical environment, a doctor may want to talk to a patient in one breakout room and consult with other medical professionals in another room.
In a judicial environment, an attorney may want to discuss a case with a defendant in one breakout room and with judicial assistants in another room.
Users of breakout rooms have two main roles: moderators (room owners) and participants (non-moderators). Moderators can perform all of the breakout room functions, whereas participants have access to limited functionality. Moderators, however, must use the VidyoConnect desktop app to perform many of the functions, such as moving participants between rooms.
To use the breakout room feature, on-premises customers must upgrade their infrastructure components to the following:
VidyoPortal 23.1.1
VidyoRouter 23.1.1
Vidyo Event Service 23.1.0
VidyoGateway 23.1.0
Strict TLS Mode
We have introduced a new Web SSL/TLS setting for MODERN_STRICT mode.
In this mode, the system no longer offers CBC ciphers for enhanced security.
