3rd Party Software on Virtual Machines
Vidyo’s infrastructure components are delivered as virtual appliances where Vidyo manages the entire software stack on it. These are high-security machines that are not accessible to users. The only interaction is through a System Console with very explicit operations available to the end user.
Due to this, Vidyo does not typically allow installation of 3rd party software on these machines as they may interfere with the normal operation of the services on the virtual machine. The applications on the virtual machines are tuned to support real-time conferencing and any additional software, such as antivirus or scanning software, may degrade system performance.
Additionally, 3rd party software may cause upgrades of the system software to fail. Installing unapproved software on a Vidyo appliance will result in your system no longer being supported and voiding of warranty. This applies to the following components:
- VidyoPortal
- VidyoRouter
- VidyoGateway
- VidyoReplay
- Vidyo Event Service
- Vidyo Epic Service
