Scaling Vidyo Networks
Telepresence becomes truly personal whenever there’s one camera for each participant and all the participants are able to join a discussion from wherever their work happens to take them, without sacrificing the high quality, low latency video that is the hallmark of telepresence. The distributed desktop and room system topology that this implies is one which requires the ability to support a large number of concurrent endpoints. Vidyo makes this possible with support for up to 100 concurrent HD multi-point users per VidyoRouter. Also, Vidyo’s architecture allows for rapid scaling from just a few concurrent ports up to tens of thousands of concurrent ports.
Whenever the need arises for more than 100 concurrent multi-point ports, you need only add additional low-cost VidyoRouters to the network. Built-in load balancing will take effect automatically. And since the ports are enabled via software keys, once the VidyoRouters are in place, you can grow the capacity of your VidyoConferencing network on demand (quite a useful capability in the event of a company-wide meeting or as part of a business continuity strategy for responding to some catastrophic event or development).
