How Vidyo Works
Unlike the experience people have had with other systems, deploying a VidyoConferencing system is easy, involving only a small number of components. At the core of the network is a VidyoRouter, which connects to the network via basic Ethernet. Depending on the size of your deployment, the VidyoPortal may reside on the same 1U appliance as does the VidyoRouter, or it might be installed on a separate 1U appliance. Also, since VidyoProxy software is embedded on the VidyoRouter, an additional 1U server can be added should your security architecture require that a proxy server be positioned on either side of the firewall. And, believe it or not, that’s all there is to the VidyoConferencing infrastructure.
Software deployment is just as easy since, as users login to the VidyoPortal via their Web browser for the first time, the VidyoDesktop client appropriate for their systems — whether Macs or Windows-based machines — is automatically downloaded and installed. Any user can then launch a meeting within his or her own virtual meeting room by way of a single button click. And with the help of an embedded directory, the user can also easily join somebody else’s meeting room or call a user directly — or even invite outside guests to join conferences by way of guest links.
For organizations who want seamless integration between desktop and room system endpoints, affordable VidyoRooms™ can be easily added at anytime. And for organizations that already have room systems in place, connectivity to legacy H.323 and SIP-based endpoints can be simply achieved via the VidyoGateway.
