If there’s anything more painful than deploying an expensive, complex IT solution, it’s having to rip it out a year later to upgrade for new functionality. That’s why — unlike older video conferencing systems which rely upon expensive, proprietary hardware platforms — Vidyo’s architecture has a software-based design that leverages the on-going evolution in standard Intel x86 hardware. You, as a consequence, can be confident your investment in VidyoConferencing will be future-proof since even significant feature upgrades, like support for 1080p, can be achieved with nothing more than a simple software upgrade.
Also, because the ports on the VidyoRouter are software-enabled, you can start with as many as you need today and then simply add or remove ports over time as your needs change via software license keys. This contrasts with legacy hardware-based systems that require you to purchase an MCU with enough ports to meet all your projected growth requirements … or risk having to buy a second MCU later. And should demand for service not end up meeting your forecast, that means you’ll have paid for ports you’ll never use. With Vidyo, you just buy what you need when you need it, and nothing more.
